Remote sensing center of Mosul University has been established since 1985. Remote sensing Center aims to develop the cadres ability in education, researches and analysis of different remote sensing data for investigation and exploitation . more over carrying out different project and researches in different subject. remote sensing center comprises one of the more important of geographical information system (GIS) programs and global positioning system (GPS) techniques which are formed an integral scientific branch to the remote sensing technology in carrying out projects and stabilization spatial and diagnostic data of the study area. Remote sensing Center plays an important role in supervisions and teaching remote sensing for different scientific department in the University and presenting scientific consultation in this field for most bureau state.
1- carrying out (52) M.Sc Thesis. 2- carrying out (4) Ph.D Thesis. 3- carrying out (24) distinguished Contractual projects with different productive Bureau state. 4- Conclude (8) Specialists scientific symposium . 5- Conclude (6) training course for state Bureau affiliate. 6- Installation of GIS training course programs and principles of GPS with its equipments. 7- publishing more than (135) researches which has been done by remote sensing cadres in journals and international, regional conferences.
9- Authorship of methodical book titled ( principles of remote sensing ) by Dr. Hikmat Subhi Al-Daghistany . 10-Issuance of published researches binder in 2005-2006 . 11- Issuance introductory folder for the remote sensing center .
Remote sensing center becomes now a scientific real and official in the field of researches application by using new technique. More over its important roll in carrying out scientific achievements in different subjects related to the remote sensing.
