About the Department:

       The department of horticultur was established in july 1973 with a fixed subjects for all the unitinuous four academic years . on the basic ( courses ), as the academic years divided into two courses , the first course (fall or autumn ) and the second courses ( spring ) . the department started to award the B.S.C. in horticultur from the academic year 1974 – 1975 .

Past – graduate studies were started for  M.S.C degree in 1976 , and in 1993 the department started to award ph.d. degrees in :pomology ;vegetable crops and ornament plants .

The department organizes traning courses and seminars for agricultural speas alist and the local farmers to inrease their knowledge in modren agriculture and new techniques in horticultural science .

4.Flower show , Spring  festival  at Ninevah Governorate .

5. External examinar for M.s.c. and Ph.d. students in their thesis at different  

Iraqi universities.
