The College of Administration and Economics was established in 1968 by the Iraqi Economists Association (Mosul branch), under the title 'Business Management and Accouting college. At that time the college recived only (166) students of both sexes to study a five-year course in the department of Accounting and business Management which was the only one in the college. After wards the Economics Department was added. However, this department confined only to an evening study. The college concentrated on the quality of the output in order to meet the needs of the society with a high quality which led then to an expansion in opening Scientific departments in the field of administration and economics. The college now includes six departments which are: Business Management department, Economic, Banking and Financial Sciences, Industrial Management and the Management Information Systems Department which was lately established in 2002-2003 to pursue the development in businesses and the spread of information and communication.
