About the Department:
Electrical Engineering Department is
one of the College of Engineering Departments in University of Mosul. It is
founded and started its first academic year in September 1964. The department
offers B. Sc., M. Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in two specializations: Electronics and
Communications Engineering, and Power and Machines Engineering. While Arabic is
the main language of instruction beside English language at its undergraduate
studies. English is frequently used at the post-graduate studies.
Electrical Engineering department adopts the credit hour system in the two
fields of specialization. In order to obtain B. Sc. Degree, an undergraduate
needs to pass the required (160) credit of study in a period of time no less
than four years.
The Department provides only one program of study, which starts classes in the
morning and end in the afternoon. Attendance in class lectures, and laboratory
work is obligatory, and student absence should not exceed (10%) percent of the
total hours required for each course. Each academic year has two semesters, each
semester has at least (15) weeks.
