Courses and Lessons (undergraduate)
The college was established in 2001 as an urgent community requirement for graduates in medicine, and the inability of Mosul College of Medicine to accept the needed number of students. The college started its first academic year in September 2002, with 85 students who were admitted and started their studies, followed by another 73 students admitted in next academic year - 2003/2004. The teaching staff comprises 15 different scientific specialists, supported by 114 teaching and administrative staff. College Administrative Sections The college comprises the following sections: Dean Office, Accounts, Administration Affairs, Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Library, Medical Information Unit, and Internet. College Premises The main college campus will be located in "Hay–Al–Wahda" Q., on the left bank of Tigris, south east of the town adjacent to Al-Razi Hospital (at present), which will be a teaching hospital in the future. At present, the college occupied the second floor of the deanary building of the Mosul college due to incomplete construction works at the main building. The following services are made available to the college students, in its current location: · Ebn–Al- Naffis lecture room, with 120 seats - for first year students. · Al–Zahrawii lecture room, with 120 seats - for second year students. · Laboratory of Physiology and Physics, 40 students capacity. · Laboratory of Chemistry and Biochemistry, 50 students capacity. · Laboratory of Biology and Histology, 30 students capacity. · Laboratory of computer, 30 students capacity. · Dean and administration offices. · Library, study room, and conference room. · Room of faculty - teaching staff.
