About the Department:

This department has been founded in Mosul University in 1964, some of the goals of this department are:

·        To study the biological sciences in comprehensive way, together with the applications and employments in the society from the theoretical and scientific point of view.

·         Preparing scientific cadres on two levels the elementary and the higher levels in medical, hygienic, agricultural food stuff industries, petrol, medications, and other biological branches aspects.

·         Acquiring the department's students the art of using the technical equipment which they need to use in their study and practice.

·         Furnishing academic technical practical information about the biological sciences in various orientations and specializations.

·        Supporting state institutions and the two sectors the mixed and the private with basic cadres, besides the higher cadres to work in this field.

·        To study and make researches about every thing new in the field of biology sciences, and to cope with the scientific development concerning this field then to include them in the curriculum.
