About the Department:

Chemistry department has been founded in 1963 as one of college of sciences departments, the department witnessed since its foundation till now a great development in all realms.

Now the department of chemistry occupies a large segment of the college compound, after it was occupying a small building in the university center.

A whole part has been constructed in 1972, followed with additions of new laboratories and a special library for the department contains numerous books in specialized scientific fields.

  • Duration of primary study is four years distributed to for academic stages, the curriculum includes theoretical and scientific themes. The graduate would be offered, after wards, BSC certificate in chemistry.

  • Higher studies started in the department in 1968, the doctorate in 1986, and in all fields of specializations of chemistry.

  •      Also the department introduces its services and scientific practical consultations by means of the college consultative bureau, in addition to performing scientific researches.

  •    The department participates in holding training courses and conferences which are organized by Mosul University.
